About the Musicians

Nick Woods

Meet Nick Woods a seasoned acoustic artist from Gravesend, Kent, with over 15 years of experience. He has played a mix of originals and covers across the UK and internationally, captivating audiences with his performances.

Jimmy Van Lin (aka The Funky Fiddler) 

Jimmy is a multi-instrumentalist including Fiddle (Violin), Mandolin, Piano, Keyboard, Tenor Guitar, Tenor Banjo, Octave Violin & Banjolele. Jimmy has won the Fiddle Naseby Battlefield Bluegrass Award twice in 2017 & 2018 as well as the Single Mic Competition in 2021 and came joint runners up in the London Fiddle Convention Contest in 2016.

Whilst violin is Jimmy’s main instrument, for the Light Festival, he will be delighting audiences with popular tunes on the Mandolin. 

Dan Solo 

Singer-songwriter from Gravesend, with musical inspirations ranging from Queen, Stereophonics, OneRepublic, Snow Patrol, Ed Sheeran and many more.

Dan’s powerful vocals and catchy self-penned songs have been very popular with local audiences in the local area and further afield. His musical journey began in front of the cameras of X-Factor and continued on the local stage with the guitar, culminating in his original music being featured on BBC Radio Kent a number of times.
